When do your portraits take place?

During the whole week just ask for availability! During the spring and summer months, weekday shoots can take place during the early evening due to the lovely light and the long days so it’s no problem to schedule them in after work and school.

Is travel included?

All travel is included within a 25 mile radius of Bournemouth. Outside of this there is a charge of 45p per mile or train fares where applicable.

Is there a deposit?

Yes, the deposit is 50% of the fee and must be paid to reserve your date. The deposit is non refundable.

What if it rains and we need to reschedule?

No problem at all. If it rains will always have a back up location in mind (usually people choose their home) and often it’s not an issue to reschedule the shoot for another day if the weather or ill-health is making that date impossible. The 50% deposit is non refundable in cases of total cancellation, but it can be transferred to another date if you simply want to postpone or reschedule.

How long after the shoot will we see the photos and how do we choose the images we want?

Within 2-3 weeks of the shoot you’ll receive your slideshow and online gallery, which you can view with family and friends. From the online gallery you can conveniently browse through all the images and choose which ones you like, in your own time, from the comfort of your home.

What exactly does “digital images” mean and can we print from these and share with family and friends?

Absolutely! As a standard practice I retain the copyright but I grant you unlimited printing right, which means I give you the high resolutions digital images that you can print to your hearts content and share with your family and friends. The only things you can’t do is sell them or modify them.

Is there a minimum spend?

There is no minimum spend. If you choose not to have any extra images, you shouldn’t be paying anything apart from your package fee. There are no hidden costs.

Are you insured?

I have public liability insurance and professional indemnity insurance. I use professional cameras and lenses and I carry spare of everything in case of failure. I also back up the photos in several different locations to avoid the worst in case of card corruption.

What shall we wear?

The best advice I can give is to wear comfortable clothing with no large logo’s on, as logo’s date. Choose outfits that represent you, that you would normally wear, but please do not wear all black or all white as the camera’s sensor finds it difficult to capture. Perhaps get the family to wear the outfits a few days before and stand in front of the mirror and see if anything clashes, pattern wise. In my book, colours can’t clash, but again, up to you! Bring baby wipes and a set of spare clothes for babies and younger children along with snacks and drinks.

What about Covid?

As of June 2020, I will not be entering peoples homes until it is safe to do so and advised by the government guidelines. The guidelines are constantly changing and I will review this situation daily. I will however, not be shooting at locations where I feel it will be too busy and at any point during the shoot, myself and the family must voice if they feel uncomfortable and we will action accordingly. I will not be within 2 meters of you and your family. If you have any other concerns please feel free to call me. If the family portrait session is in your garden, there will need to be access for me which is not through your house.

We think you’re the photographer for us, how do we book you?

Brilliant! Just drop me an email or use the contact form on my website or give me a call on 07971082878 to let me know who you want photographing, location and approximate date you want the shoot to take place. Then we’ll find a date for your shoot!

How do we confirm the booking and secure the date for the shoot?

To secure the date, you just need to pay the non refundable 50% deposit, any travel expenses Iif applicable) and complete the booking form I send you. Simple!

It might take a while to get the deposit together, can you pencil us in?

Unfortunately not, lots of people are after the same dates, so the only way to reserve your date is to complete the booking form and pay the deposit.

When are the product payments due?

A ny payments for extra products e.g. images or/and prints are due after the shoot date once you have decided which items you would like, and before they are put into production.

How can we pay?

You can pay by bank transfer, just drop me an email and I will send you all the details.

What happens after we book you?

I’ll send you a questionnaire ;so I can get to know you and your family better and find out what you have in mind for the shoot. I can’t wait to meet you all!
